Summary of Labor Dispute With Paras Construction Inc and Paras General Construction Inc. DBA Paras Concrete Contractors

Over the years Jim and George Paras have owned and operated the below listed construction companies:

  • Paras Construction Inc.
  • Paras General Construction Inc. (recently DBA Paras Concrete Contractors)

In 2006 Paras General Construction Inc. filed papers with the state of Washington to operate as Paras Concrete Contractors. After reviewing the facts in this publication we can see why they would change their name and appear to want to take on fewer responsibilities. In this publication we will be referring to all these entities as “The Paras Construction Companies” or Paras for the sake of simplicity.

Reckless Excavation Documents a six year long civil suit against Paras for seriously damaging a neighbor’s home during construction. Paras’s reckless excavation not only caused the construction to be immediately shut down, it caused the neighbor’s home to be rendered structurally unsafe and uninhabitable.

Permanent Disability Documents a multimillion dollar civil suit brought by a worker who was paralyzed when he fell on a Paras project.

Legal Entanglements Lists the excessive number of lawsuits by Paras’s subs attempting to collect debts.

Construction Defect Dispute Documents a civil suit filed by Paras in response to defective construction arbitration by an owner.

OSHA Citation Documents an OSHA citation for potentially serious cave in hazards.

Safety Record Summarizes Paras’s safety citation record.

Subcontractor Liens Documents the large number of liens filed against Paras on their projects.

Lawful Protests Shows our typical demonstrations, banners, and hand-billing. These are the Carpenters Union’s lawful protests that impact Paras and all related parties.

Again we do not want you to become impacted by our labor dispute. Our lawful protest activity may include highly visible banner displays, hand-billing, job site picketing and public demonstrations; along with possible consumer actions. That is why, as a matter of courtesy, we are providing you with the information contained within this document. We hope that we can work together to protect and maintain the standards of our industry. In this way all projects will be built right, built safe, and built for a fair wage.

If you have any questions or need further information regarding this matter please do not hesitate to contact Jimmy Haun, Representative of the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters, at (253) 945-8854. Updates will be posted as they are available; please check for the latest news on The Paras Construction Companies.
